Spring Has Sprung

I hope you are well!

It's been amazing to see the hills turn green! This is a Very Steep Hill... The fastest route to the Mushroom Forest.

Nature News

The weather seems to change minute-by-minute, and the creek flow changes each day based on whether it's rained, or how many days it's been since it has. Everyone's so excited when it's flowing strong, and about half of them can't help but wade right in up to their waists!

Here are some Outside School kids exploring on the rocks on a lighter creek flow day.

The bulk of the rocks and dirt in the park have a bluish hue, and the rocks are quite slippery even when they're dry. I suspect this may be fresh serpentinite, but I'm still learning:

Here's a 30 second lesson on slime molds, created by one of the kids:

There are lots of different “systems”… Unschooling, flexischooling (attending public school on days that we don't meet), homeschooling, wildschooling… All possibilities supported by Outside School.

As more families question whether they or their children are ready to go back to in-person, traditional classrooms, many are wondering how to manage their time. It is doable! If you’re feeling at a loss, here is a possible resource:
